From the Mayor of Cabonne: Why ANFD Matters to Our Region
The Australian National Field Days (ANFD) is not only one of the nation’s premier agricultural exhibitions, but it is also a cornerstone event for the Cabonne region, driving innovation, supporting local business, and strengthening community pride.
As Cr Kevin Beatty, Mayor of Cabonne Council, proudly states:
“The Australian National Field Days is one of our region’s most valued annual events, and Cabonne Council is proud to continue its support as a major sponsor.”
Celebrating Agriculture, Innovation, and Community
Since its inception in 1952, ANFD has grown into a dynamic platform for agricultural innovation, education, and business networking. Now celebrating its 73rd year, the 2025 Field Days will showcase the latest in farming technology, sustainable practices, and community-driven initiatives.
Mayor Beatty highlights the unique breadth of experiences on offer:
“Celebrating its 73rd year from 23–25 October 2025, the event attracts over 500 exhibitors and around 18,000 visitors from across New South Wales and interstate. It offers a dynamic platform for agricultural innovation, education, and business networking, with attractions ranging from ag-tech demonstrations and school STEM programs to livestock displays, food and fashion pavilions, and family entertainment.”
This blend of tradition and progress continues to make ANFD a must-attend event for farmers, families, and industry leaders alike.
Driving Regional Economic Growth
For Cabonne, ANFD’s impact extends well beyond the event site. The Field Days bring thousands of visitors who stay, shop, and explore, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
“The Field Days generate significant economic benefits, supporting local jobs, boosting trade, and providing fundraising opportunities for Cabonne-based community groups,” says Cr Beatty.
Council’s ongoing involvement ensures that Cabonne businesses, producers, and artisans gain visibility on a state and national stage. The dedicated Cabonne Shed at ANFD highlights the best of the region’s food, wine, crafts, and tourism, connecting locals with new customers and markets.
Sharing Benefits Across the Region
While some of the economic activity naturally flows to neighbouring areas, the Mayor stresses the broader importance of ANFD in reinforcing Cabonne’s role within Australia’s agricultural landscape:
“While some economic activity flows to neighbouring areas due to infrastructure capacity, many visitors travel through Cabonne towns, supporting local businesses and reinforcing our region’s role in Australia’s agricultural landscape.”
This movement of people through villages and townships ensures that the benefits of ANFD ripple across the region, strengthening not just the host community but the broader network of rural businesses and services.
Looking Ahead to ANFD 2025
As the Cabonne Mayor notes, ANFD is not just an agricultural event, it’s a community institution that delivers year after year. With attractions ranging from ag-tech demos and school STEM programs to livestock displays, local produce, and family entertainment, the 2025 Field Days promise to be one of the strongest yet.
The Australian National Field Days 2025 will be held from:
📅 23–25 October 2025

With its proud history and continued community support, ANFD remains a regional icon that advances Australian agriculture while showcasing the best of Cabonne.
