From the Mayor of Orange: Why ANFD Matters More Than Ever
ANFD 2025 Mayor of Orange

The Australian National Field Days (ANFD) is not only the nation’s oldest agricultural exhibition, it’s also one of the most impactful, both in terms of community connection and regional economic growth.

As Councillor Tony Mileto, Mayor of Orange, proudly states:

“The Australian National Field Days is not only the oldest but is the leading agricultural exhibition in Australia.”

Celebrating Innovation and Resilience in Agriculture

Since its inception in 1952, ANFD has continued to deliver on its mission of Advancing Australian Agriculture. Year after year, the event showcases the latest in agricultural innovation, technology, and sustainable farming practices.

The Mayor recognises this value in today’s fast-changing environment:

“Since 1952, it has been showcasing innovation to agriculture by understanding that now more than ever, the one constant is the need to be ready for change.”

This message perfectly captures the spirit of ANFD, an event that honours tradition while embracing progress.

A Boost for the Orange Region

ANFD doesn’t just bring people together, it brings a significant economic boost to the Orange region and surrounding communities.

“It is a great boost for the economy of the Orange region,” says Cr Mileto.

With over 15,000 visitors and 500+ exhibitors expected in 2025, the impact is substantial.
The Mayor estimates that 15% of visitors will stay overnight, filling local accommodation, restaurants, pubs, and retail outlets across Orange and Cabonne.

This surge in tourism and foot traffic benefits not just exhibitors, but local businesses and service providers who welcome a new wave of customers during the three-day event.

A Warm Welcome from the People of Orange

Community pride is at the heart of ANFD. As Cr Mileto shares:

“I am sure the residents of Orange will, as usual, roll out the welcome mat.”

The people of Orange are known for their hospitality, and each year they play a key role in helping visitors feel at home.

To his fellow residents, the Mayor adds:

“I encourage you to take the opportunity to visit the 3-day event; there is plenty to see and do.”

From ag-tech displays and livestock exhibits to family-friendly entertainment, lifestyle pavilions, and local food, the event offers something for everyone.
