Three popular music acts.

The well-known Mickey Pye, the 2015 Toyota Star Maker in Tamworth, will again be performing this year. Country songs with influences such as Brad Paisley and Toby Keith, he is sure to bring in the crowd.

“I love playing at the Orange Field days. The event attracts so many people from the land, many of whom are country music fans, and so it’s such a great day playing out in the sunshine to a warm and welcoming audience. The stage out there is a really great place for people to come and rest their legs, grab a drink or a bite to eat and listen to some music,” said Mickey.

Mickey Pye released a debut album ‘Unleashed’, scoring himself two golden guitar nominations in Tamworth, as well as being nominated for this year’s festival for Instrumental of the Year for his song ‘Buckle Up’.

“I’ve been a touring artists for a number of years now. I got into the country music scene as a guitarist, playing for Travis Collins, Tania Kernaghan and Beccy Cole. When I’m not out on the road I love playing around my local area (Bathurst, Orange and the Central West). I also run a music school in Bathurst (Bathurst Academy of Music), which has over 240 students. So between touring and running the Academy life is pretty busy, however I’m excited to be releasing new music towards the end of this year. So I’ll be playing a few of the new songs at the Field Days and showcasing what I’ve been working on in the studio,” Mickey said.

Another popular act performing is The Hewetts. Col and Kez Hewett together play a combination of country, top40, old classic pub rock and a few sneaky ballads.

Major influences for this duo are Keith Urban, Shania Twain, Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Madonna and Matchbox 20. So you can expect to hear some favourites such as Chicken Fried, Man I Feel Like a Woman, Bad Moon Rising, Like a Prayer, Love Story and Summer of 69.

“We have been performing for over 23 years as a duo and we love to engage the crowd, bringing them into the performance and making them feel a part of it. We would like to thank Shane at Scarr Entertainment for the opportunity to perform at the ANFD,” said The Hewetts.

The third act playing this year is Casey McFarlane. Casey plays a wide range of popular covers within the country, rock and rock’n’roll genres, as well as a number of original compositions.

“I was raised around music my whole life learning a lot from my father Jimmy McFarlane Jnr and many of his muso mates. I began playing drums at the age of 10 and switched to the guitar at the age of 14 and have never looked back,” said Casey.

Casey has been influenced by Bryan Adams for his songwriting and unique style, Waylon Jennings for his originality and Elvis Presley for his unmatched talent.

“The audience at my shows can expect many favorite covers including “American Pie” by Don McLean, “The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers, “Flame Trees” by Cold Chisel and many more well-known songs by popular artists both old and new,” said Casey.

Casey has been performing as a solo artist around the Central West and beyond for over 4 years, working alongside Scarr Entertainment now playing for various pubs, clubs, social functions, private events and opening shows for well known Australian artists such as Travis Collins, Amber Lawrence and Mickey Pye.

“I always strive to involve my audience in my shows as much as possible by making myself open to requests, being friendly and approachable and playing an appropriate set list for the crowd. I am entertaining and will have them sing along to their favorite songs and simply enjoying the power of music!” said Casey.
